We are pleased to inform that Lakshmi Purana, which is customarily recited during Manabasa Gurubar puja , is now available for downloading in Oriya font on our site at http://www.oriyanari.com/id4.html (The 'Oriya Festvals' page of http://www.oriyanari.com). The book is in .pdf format and you would be able to download it if an updated Adobe Reader is available in your system.
You may also find an English prose translation of Lakshmi Purana (translated by the renowned author Dr. Jagannath Prasad Das) available for downloading on the same page.
We hope these would be found useful during the forthcoming Manabasa Gurubar puja in the Oriya month of Margasir.

Hello Oriya Nari Team,
It is good news to see a copy of the Lakshmi Purana finally! But it will not help people like me who cannot read or write the Oriya language (my mother tongue is Telugu). Is it possible to have the Oriya version in English script so that it sounds meaningful while we perform the puja? I can understand the language fairly ok.
Regards, Shilpa Rath.

Dear Shilpa,
You may find an abridged English translation of the Lakshmi Purana on our 'Oriya Festivals' page at http://www.oriyanari.com/id4.html . It is in prose form and captures the essence of the Oriya version. What you have requested for is an English transliteration of the original Oriya verse. But we believe that in case we publish it, it cannot be easily recited by one who doesn't know Oriya alphabets, especially since it is quite long. We are of the opinion that in this respect the translated English version available on our site for downloading may be found useful.
